In the preferences / encoder settings of MB3.0 I have the following two options:ġ. ![]() Generally the encoder settings in the preferences menu are corresponding to the drop down menus in the CD Rip settings: Which one of the new profiles ("standard compression" or "maximum compression") would correspond to the previous profile "archiving" and ensure the best quality output to the ripped files? Any hints that would help making the right choice for my collection would be highly appreciated. ![]() I would like to continue to archive my CD collection in the best possible quality (I know that FLAC is by definition "losless", but I'm still unsure), and I am a bit confused by these two new options, therefore my question: Instead I see in the "CD Rip Settings" when I choose "encode as: FLAC" two new options / profiles named "standard compression" or "maximum compression". Now, with the recent update to Musicbee (I am using the portable version) I noticed that this profile is not available anymore. I had read somewhere that "archiving" would ensure the best quality for the ripped titles. I am ripping my CDs in losless format (FLAC) and was using the FLAC encoding profile "archiving" in Musicbee 3.0.5. I am pretty new to Musicbee, using it for a couple of weeks as I was looking for a long time for a suitable iTunes replacement, and I must admit that I absolutely LOVE this Software! I am using it to archive my complete CD collection. ![]()
